The World Water Day Celebration was successfully held on 22nd March 2025 at Navodaya Institute of Technology, Raichur, organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit and the Department of Civil Engineering. The event focused on raising awareness about water conservation and sustainable water management practices. The event was graced by Sri K. Gurulingappa, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Irrigation Department, KBJNL, Devadurga, Raichur, who delivered an insightful speech on water resource management and conservation strategies. The program began at 10:30 AM in the NIT Auditorium with a welcome speech by faculty members. The Chief Guest emphasized the importance of irrigation management and water sustainability in his address. Competitions and Participation: Poster Presentation: Students showcased creative posters on water conservation: 5 teams participated, and the best entries were awarded prizes. Quiz Competition: A knowledge-based quiz on water resources and conservation was conducted. 15 teams participated, with the top three teams receiving awards. Outcomes and Impact: The event successfully raised awareness about water conservation among students. The Chief Guest’s insights on irrigation and sustainable water practices provided valuable learning. Active participation from students made the event engaging and informative. Conclusion: The World Water Day Celebration 2025 at NIT Raichur was a great success, with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty. Sri K. Gurulingappa’s presence and expertise added immense value, making the event more impactful. The NSS unit and the Department of Civil Engineering were praised for organizing a meaningful awareness program.
